Chicago GSB Round 1 deadline extended: Due to an
unexpected need for computer maintenance, the University of
Chicago School of Business has extended the deadline for
receipt of Round 1 MBA applications. The new deadline is
12:00 p.m. CST (1:00 p.m. EST) on Monday, November 15.

New Associate Dean for Chicago GSB: Rose Martinelli, the current Director of Admissions at
Wharton is joining the GSB as Associate Dean
for Student Recruitment and Admissions effective May 1,
2005. The announcement was made on Monday, November 1 the first
business day following a Friday appearance by Rose at a

US News & World Report released its latest
business school
rankings. While they seemed to have moved a bit closer to
the public's general perception, they – like all other
rankings – should be taken with a grain of salt and should
not produce unreasonable pressure on your final b-school
selection decisions. (Rankings do change over time to a much
greater degree than the quality of the MBA programs they
purport to rank.)

Carnegie Mellon changed the name of their program to
the Tepper School of
Business at Carnegie Mellon following a
$55 million contribution from David A. Tepper (MBA '82).
